| All of these are things to do within a 15 minute drive from Rose Hill Inn: |
| Enjoy a tour of the Woodford Reserve Distillery. The tour is historic, informative, and entertaining. They have a great gift shop and sometimes have special events. | | Visit the Equus Run Winery in Midway and do a little "wine tasting". You can even picnic on their grounds and some summer weekends there are concerts there. A fun afternoon for the adults .. |
|
| Go to the races at Keeneland during their season (April and October), or enjoy early morning workouts year round. Their gift shop is interesting and grounds are beautiful. The track is open Wed-Sundays for off-track betting and guests are welcome to walk around the grounds. The Keeneland horse sales are held in July, September, November and January, and are very interesting to observe. |
| Antique Shop!! Between Irish Acres in Nonesuch, the Olde Towne Antique Mall in Versailles, and several Midway antique stores, you can shop until you drop! If you aren't satisfied and want to go more than a 15 minute drive, there's antiquing in Lawrenceburg, Nicholasville, Georgetown, Shelbyville, Lexington and Harrodsburg. |
| Let's not forget Big Springs Park. You'll find it a block from the Inn .. and it's a great place for a walk, a picnic, or for the kids to play. Part of the park used to belong to the owners of Rose Hill until it was donated to the city. There's a mile path you can walk, and a bike path that goes even farther (all the way to Falling Springs), so you can get a lot of exercise! | |
 | Falling Springs Recreational Center has a great workout center, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, an indoor basketball court, and is a favorite for all ages. It's a 2 mile drive from the Inn and it's only $5 per person for a day pass -- well worth the fee. Kids love the pool in the summer and adults enjoy the facilities too. |
| Downtown Versailles -- the little shops to browse or buy -- are just two blocks from the Inn and a fun way to relax. There are a couple of art galleries and a coffee shop too. On the way stop at the Woodford County Historical Society Museum! |
| Woodford Hills Country Club has a great golf course. The Inn is a member and we can get you on the course if you bring your clubs! The fee is reasonable and the course is not crowded. We love it and you will too. |
|
|
| Take a walk in the Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary . Enjoy the birds and the quiet of Kentucky's nature. | Enjoy a horse show at Lakeside Arena. |
| Take one of the four historical walks around Versailles. We have pamphlets in the office or at the Historical Society. The houses and buildings on the routes are described and highlighted. |
